Quick FAQ for installers
Deye, general guidance
Battery type, Lithium.
Protocol, Pylontech over CAN where available.
Capacity, set total Ah for the bank, typically 100 Ah per module multiplied by the module count.
Current limits, follow the UF5000 datasheet continuous and peak values, size DC protection accordingly.
Update inverter firmware if required by the vendor release notes.
Sunsynk, general guidance
Battery type, Lithium, enable BMS.
Protocol, Pylontech via CAN.
Capacity, set the bank Ah as above, confirm charge and discharge limits from the battery BMS once online.
Use the supplied or approved CAN cable and observe correct CAN-port pinout.
Installation notes
Commission modules to a similar state of charge before paralleling.
Use DC cables and protection rated for the bank’s continuous current and fault levels.
Provide ventilation space as per the datasheet and avoid heat sources.
Ensure correct earthing and bonding of racks and enclosures.
All specifications are subject to the manufacturer’s datasheet and installation manual. Always follow local electrical regulations and the inverter vendor’s integration guide.

Why position UF5000 as the upgrade
More energy per module, 5.12 kWh vs 4.8 kWh, more usable too.
Higher continuous current, 100 A, better for sustained load.
Wider temperature window, better resilience on hot or cold days.
Longer design life, 15 years.
Scales to 20 units in one group for larger banks.
Technical notes
Do not mix battery types in one stack or group, keep UF with UF, UP with UP.
Where possible keep modules within similar state of charge before paralleling.
Peak values are time-limited and temperature-dependent, design for continuous current.
FAQ
Can I parallel UF5000 with UP5000
Not recommended, the manufacturer guidance states, do not connect different types together. Use one model per group.
Will the higher current of UF5000 stress cables or breakers
Use cabling and DC protection sized for 100 A continuous per module and for the string total. Follow your inverter and DC protection ratings.
Is firmware needed to reach these ratings
UF5000 ships with 100 A continuous. UP5000 continuous is 90 A according to the installation data.
