The Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100-MC4 VE.Can is a high-voltage solar charge controller designed for 48V DC battery systems connected to large solar arrays. Utilising ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology, it maximises power output from your solar arrays, adjusting rapidly to changing cloud cover and light conditions to deliver up to 30% more energy than standard PWM controllers.

Dual Independent MPP Trackers

Equipped with two independent MPPT tracking inputs, this controller allows for the design and optimisation of complex solar layouts. This dual-tracker design provides exceptional efficiency when strings are facing different directions, have unequal lengths, or suffer from localised partial shading conditions.

Galvanic Isolation and Safety Features

The controller provides full galvanic isolation between the PV and battery connections, enhancing overall system protection. It incorporates continuous PV isolation resistance monitoring, instantly detecting faults if insulation levels drop below safe thresholds. Built-in protection also includes output short-circuit, over-temperature, and PV reverse-polarity protection.

Advanced Interfacing and Synchronised Operation

The built-in VE.Can bus ports enable high-speed communication and multi-unit synchronisation. Up to 25 units can be daisy-chained using standard RJ45 cables to synchronise charge stages across a single battery bank. System data can be transmitted simultaneously to a GX monitoring device (such as a Cerbo GX) for local display or remote management via the free Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal.

Local Monitoring and Settings Configuration

An integrated front-panel display provides immediate readings of battery voltage, charge current, and individual tracker voltages. Integrated Bluetooth connectivity allows users to configure charging profiles, view 30-day historical yield data, and manage firmware updates wirelessly via the VictronConnect mobile application.
