The Victron Battery Switch ON/OFF 275A is an essential safety and management component for modern low-voltage DC electrical networks. Engineered to support battery systems up to 48V (with a maximum operating voltage of 60V), this high-capacity switch is primarily utilized to isolate batteries from DC loads or charging sources. It provides a reliable means to preserve battery charge when systems are left unattended, simplifies routine electrical maintenance, and serves as a rapid disconnect in emergency situations.
Beyond standard system isolation, this versatile component can function as an emergency parallel switch, allowing you to bridge a secondary or house battery bank to a starter battery when dealing with flat batteries. Safety is a core priority of the design. The switch meets the strict ISO8846 and SAE J1171 Ignition Protection standards, ensuring it can be safely installed in high-risk environments such as marine engine rooms or fuel storage compartments without the risk of igniting ambient fumes.
The unit features a distinctive, highly aesthetic ergonomic knob that offers positive tactile feedback during operation. For added security and system lockout during maintenance, the knob can be turned an extra 30° counterclockwise and completely removed, preventing accidental re-energization of the circuit. Installation is exceptionally flexible, accommodating both standard surface mounting and flush rear-panel configurations. The robust housing includes four easily removable side plates that facilitate clean, unrestricted cable routing from any direction, while the heavy-duty M10 tin-plated copper terminals safely accommodate large-diameter cables (up to 120mm² or 4/0 AWG) to ensure minimal voltage drop and maximum current handling.
