IMPORTANT

Lithium-ion batteries have the advantage over traditional lead acid in that they can be cycled many times more and can be discharged deeper while maintaining a decent battery life.

For those not overly familiar with electrical power, this system can store around 5 Units of electricity in the batteries.

This means that at during a power failure, you could watch a 200W TV for about 25 hours before the batteries went flat (200W x 25 hours = 5000Whrs = 5 Units of electricity)

OR

you could run 40 x 5W LED globes for 25 hours (5W x 40 x 25 hours = 5000Whrs = 50 Units of electricity)

OR

a 1500W kettle for an 3.3 hours straight (1500W * 3,3 hours = 5000Whrs = 5 Units of electricity) *Not sure why you would do that but who knows?*

OR

any combination of the above that adds up to 5 Units.

The system will switch from grid power to battery power automatically upon grid failure, and automatically back to grid when power returns. The batteries will then automatically recharge.

Questions

Question

how can I connect this to DB if I have a prepaid meter?

Answer

Hi Shaun, there is no issue with having a prepaid meter. The system will still work. Your electrician will/should know how to connect it.

We may be able to connect you with a qualified Sunsynk installer if needed.
