If you have a modern version of Excel, you can download our sizing tool here and try out different combinations of load, batteries, panels etc.

Our 3kVA Off Grid kit consists of:

  • 1 x 3kVA Plus Solar Hybrid Inverter

  • 4 x 285W Peimar Solar Solar Modules

  • 4 x 100Ah 12V AGM Sealed AGM Batteries

  • Dual 160A fuses and battery disconnector box

  • 25m x 4.0mm Solar Cable

  • MC4 Connector kit

  • Mounting Clips and channel (2 x 2m)

Please note that these kits do not include installation.

For those not overly familiar with solar power, this kit can store around 2 Unit of electricity in the batteries.

This means that at night when there is no sun, you could watch a 300W TV for about 6 hours before the batteries went flat (300W x 6 hours = 1800Whrs = 1.8 Units of electricity)

OR

you could run 20 x 5W LED globes for 20 hours (5W x 20 x20 hours = 2000Whrs = 1 Unit of electricity)

OR

a 2000W kettle for an hour straight (2000W * 1 hours = 2000Whrs = 2 Unit of electricity) *Not sure why you would do that but who knows?*

OR

any combination of the above that adds up to 2 Units.

During the day, the solar panels will first charge the batteries and after that will add whatever power they can produce, so you will be able to go longer depending on weather conditions.

If you need to do more than the above you need a bigger kit. Please contact us and we can do a quote for you.

Questions

questions Ralph on 11/07/2020
Question:

Hi, Can the batteries be connected in parallel to convert them to 24 volt.and is there any advantage?

Answer:

Hi Ralph, this inverter is already a 24V battery inverter. You need to connect 2 x 12V batteries in series to get the required 24V.

Connecting batteries in parallel does not change the battery bank voltage.

questions Anton on 12/01/2020
Question:

Does this inverter allow power delivery during the day from solar only? In other words, not using battery/mains if the batteries are fully charged?

Answer:

Hi Anton, yes it can run like this.
